    Celebration of Science Day 2025 at UCOST Vigyan Dham Jhajra Dehradun

    Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami was present as the chief guest on the occasion of National Science Day today at Uttarakhand State Council of Science and Technology (UCOST). On this special occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inspected the country’s fifth science city and regional science center being built in Jhajra. On this occasion, he saluted the great scientist of the country, Dr. C.V. Raman and wished everyone a Happy Science Day. During this, the Chief Minister said that the country’s fifth science city to be built in Dehradun will prove to be a milestone for Uttarakhand, which will play an important role in establishing a hilly state like Uttarakhand as a global destination in the field of science, technology and innovation. Also, the establishment of science centers in every district of the state will also prove to be helpful in the promotion of science. He said that the state government is creating world-class infrastructure in every district through initiatives like Science and Innovation Center, Labs on Wheels, Digital Library, Patent Information Center and STEM Labs. During this, CM Dhami also interacted with students and scientists of various institutions associated with all 13 districts through online medium.

    On this occasion, UCOST Director General Prof. Durgesh Pant welcomed all the distinguished guests in his welcome address and emphasized the importance of National Science Day. Along with this, Prof. Pant also presented the work being done in the field of science technology and innovation at UCOST.

    MLA Sahaspur, Sahdev Singh Pundir praised the work being done by UCOST in the field of science and also talked about providing additional land for Science City.

    During this, Secretary, Science and Technology Department, Nitesh Jha said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister in Dehradun, he mentioned the work being done in the field of science technology with the latest technologies. He told that soon in all the 95 development blocks of the state, children will be introduced to the latest techniques of the laboratory through Labs on Wheels.

    This program was conducted by Kanchan Dobhal, Scientific Officer, UCOST. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Science City Advisor G.S. Rautela. On this occasion, he expressed special gratitude to the Chief Minister for his cooperation in science, technology and innovation.
