MONITORING OF WDC-PMKSY 2.0 PROJECTS USING GEOSPATIAL TECHNOLOGIES
The Uttarakhand Space Application Centre (USAC) is collaborating with the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad to monitor the WDC 2.0 projects in Uttarakhand for the sanctioned projects from 2021-22. Each project will be monitored during three phases: pre-implementation, mid-implementation, and post-implementation. This monitoring process involves processing high-resolution satellite data from Cartosat-2S, Cartosat-3, and R2 FMX. Additionally, the project involves generating Land Use Land Cover (LULC) maps, quantifying changes specifically for the output and outcome indicators that can be assessed using remote sensing data, as defined by the Department of Land Resources (DoLR). Furthermore, it includes preparing maps to illustrate change detection in the monitored projects, conducting necessary ground-truthing, and generating annual reports.
