Inauguration of “USERC Centre of Excellence in Bioinformatics” at Devbhoomi Uttarakhand University by USERC
“USERC Centre of Excellence in Bioinformatics” established by the Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Center (USERC) at the Devbhoomi Uttarakhand University campus was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Director of USERC, Professor (Dr.) Anita Rawat. On this occasion, Professor Rawat, in her address, stated that this center of excellence established by USERC will not only assist students in their coursework in the field of bioinformatics but will also provide them with practical training, guiding them towards a successful career.
Professor Rawat highlighted the relevance of the rapidly developing field of Bioinformatics and encouraged students to engage in research within this subject. She emphasized that Bioinformatics is bringing revolutionary changes in sectors such as healthcare, environment, and agriculture. Through this center, USERC aims to provide students with a unique platform and encourage them to contribute to emerging technologies.
On this occasion, Professor (Dr.) Jagmohan Singh Rana, former Chairman of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, who was a distinguished guest, in his address, stated that today, it is necessary to introduce students to new branches of science. He mentioned the importance of developing an interest in science among students, as well as the need to embrace Indian knowledge systems.
The event was also attended by the institution’s president, Mr. Sanjay Bansal, Vice-Chancellor Professor Preeti Kothiyal, and faculty members of the university.
