    Two-Day Open Forge Awareness Workshop Organized at Hotel Aketa, Dehradun

    The Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA), Government of Uttarakhand, in collaboration with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), successfully conducted a two-day OpenForge Awareness Workshop on 19th–20th May 2025 at Hotel Aketa, Dehradun.

    The workshop was inaugurated by Ms. Nitika Khandelwal, IAS (Additional Secretary, IT, Government of Uttarakhand), who set the context by emphasizing the importance of open-source platforms in strengthening transparency and collaboration in government software development. The way forward and overall supervision of the workshop was led by Sh. Tirth Pal Singh, PCS (Additional Director, ITDA).

    Focused on OpenForge—India’s open-source collaboration platform—the workshop aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of its features and applications in e-Governance.

    With over 65 participants from various state departments and agencies, the sessions covered:

    • Platform Features: Git-based version control, issue tracking, CI/CD, project dashboards, and documentation tools
    • Use Cases: Successful government projects hosted on OpenForge
    • Benefits: Greater code reusability, inter-departmental collaboration, and project transparency
    • Hands-on Training: Live project and repository creation guided by NeGD and ITDA experts

    The event aligns with ITDA’s ongoing digital governance initiatives and supports the Digital India vision by fostering a culture of open, collaborative software development within the government sector.
