    USERC Organizes National Science Day 2025 at Tulas Institute

    On 28th February 2025, YSERC, in collaboration with Lakshya Society, organized a grand celebration of ‘National Science Day 2025’ at Tulas Institute, Dehradun. This year’s theme was “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership: Developing India through Science and Innovation.” The event began with the lighting of the lamp and the national anthem.

    On this occasion, Dr. Anita Rawat, Director of USERC, in her address, mentioned that USERC, in collaboration with various scientific and research institutions, has been continuously conducting scientific activities at the grassroots level across the state, focusing on innovation, creativity, and technology-based science education for students and teachers of the state. Additionally, USERC has established 200 Science Awareness Centers and 82 STEM Labs in various schools of the state, which are proving helpful in promoting science education in the remote hilly areas of the state.

    As part of the event, the Department of Applied Science and Humanities organized the ‘Tech-thon 2025,’ with the theme “Empowerment through Innovation: Harnessing the Power of Young Minds for a Sustainable Future.” Sixteen teams participated in this competition, presenting research-based solutions related to sustainable development. The winners of the competition were awarded by the guests.

    On this occasion, Dr. Sandeep Vijay, Director of Tulas Institute, Mr. Umesh Uniyal, Co-director of Doon Defence Academy, Dr. Nishant Saxena, Dr. O.P. Nautiyal, Mr. Kishan Singh Aswal, Review Officer (Forest and Environment Department, Uttarakhand Secretariat), Dr. Vijay Kumar Upadhyay, Dr. Sunil Semwal, and all the heads of departments at Tulas Institute, along with several other dignitaries, were present.
